Interview with Dr. Lock #01

shima: Hi, Dr. these documents (Letter of Disclosure, Dear Ones) were the first statement from the mysterious creator of WMM, and I think readers must feel surprise, confusion and disbelief in every meaning. WingMakers is often called the transformational myth, but do you have any advice when people start deeper study and experience of the new layer in this material?

Dr:  Reading these papers for the first time was a surprise, and confusing also for me, so don't be surprised at your reaction., Rather, look at it ? your reaction ? to learn more about your way of evaluating the material that crosses your path on your journey to enlightenment and transformation. I incorrectly assumed James was a shortened version of Jamisson Neruda and had to insert an errata note in the Osaka University of Arts journal to cover this misunderstanding that was cleared up after a number of communiques with Mark Hempel. Almost everyone had/has subconsciously made their own assumptions about the original WMM. Many thought the original was a literal truth and hence then believed these letters to represent some fakery coming along to corrupt it.

The mind and ego love to think they finally understand things so well that they can then inform others of them. The untrained mind can respond in this way to The Ancient Arrow Book (AAB). The WMM is not designed to work this way. Firstly the truth behind the WMM as it relates to scientific organizations would be top secret, or more correctly way beyond top secret, making it suicidal to try to reveal those things just as they are; and that would mean the end of the message or material.

The WMM is a myth in as much as it doesn't strictly depict things as they are, but rather metaphorically. This guarantees the safety and survival of the material. This is especially so for the Ancient Arrow Book (AAB) which is the story line of the WMM. It is a story based on truth in which identities, of people and organizations, technologies and events have been disguised or camouflaged metaphorically in order to ensure the plots survival as a public medium. You can see this in many movies and stories presented to the public. The series of books and films about secret agent 007 are somewhat of an analogy; written by a former member of British navy intelligence, Ian Flemming, the stories relate to certain truths he became privy to but disguised in fact, making them factually untrue or mythical. This is one reason that such stories become so compelling; they are bedded in truth but have the allure and attraction of a story.

Should you feel cheated in some way on finding out that the AAB is not strictly factual ask yourself, "Why did I believe it to be so factual?" You will probably find the answer to be that it just rang as true, and was so well and convincingly written. The writer of the story never once said it was in fact true. The writer of the story was not even evident ? until these letters were revealed. The assumption was all on the part of the reader. They were (myself included) drawn into the story. It is a great learning experience if you can pocket the ego, pride and self importance; and this is necessary for the WMM to be a catalyst for transformation which "renders your self-importance a decisive death" as depicted in Chamber 17 painting.

The weaving of fact into myth characterized in the AAB is not IMO so evident in the philosophies, poetry and art work; and to me this is one of the truly engaging aspects of the WMM and I'd encourage you not to miss this. A philosophy is...just that: a philosophy. It doesn't claim to be a truth and is not in need of disguise in order to survive in a world run to a degree on top secrets. The WM philosophies are IMO an attempt to describe the illusive nature of reality on a multidimensional level, though mostly as that relates to the human instrument and the soul/spirit giving it life.

Philosophy and art are their own disguises and so are in no need of another. An artist can and does merely create his or her own version or interpretation of the reality they wish to depict: it is never "as it is out there in reality". This is one reason there are no ? or very few -- top secrets in art. Art can be used to convey messages and information (and secrets); but it is all there for the reading if its symbolism is understood ? even if it were a top secret it would be all there plainly on view.

So, one point I would make as you absorb what these new letters mean for you is that the philosophies, poetry and artwork are IMO a more straightforward attempt at describing reality than the AAB, which due to its content had to be given a story line.

You will remain with many questions unanswered, myself too. Are, for example, the paintings then actually on a cave wall in Chaco Canyon? Quite honestly, we do not know. How could we know? But ask yourself, "How important a question is that?" Does it matter whether they are there or not? Why do I want to know? Do I need to know this? Will the answer take me closer to my true nature, spirit/soul or transformation or will it just titillate the intellect and lead me down paths of curiosity without reward (though curiosity can sometimes lead to reward)? I do not know whether the paintings are there or not; and what is more important, it doesn't matter. I experienced the transformation from studying very poor quality reproductions of the online paintings that were available prior to 2001. You have all you need, and far better quality pictures than I had.

If you look at the questions arising within self and see just how important or relevant they really are each time, and if you can do this successfully, for your own spiritual understanding and with the intent of better understanding for all you will be on an accelerating pathway of development.
If you have further questions in this regard feel free to forward them to shima and I'll do my best to answer them.

shima: You mentioned that the name "Neruda" has the special meaning; the one who brings myth. I guess the name "James" also may have the meaning reflecting this myth. Reading Letter of Disclosure, it appears that Sarah De Rosnay might give the name "James" to this person, but is it possible to draw any interpretation from this name "James" from the view of Semiotics?

Dr: Well, Neruda is actually the one who brings the message; he is the message bearer. The message doesn't have to be a myth; it is often the truth, and the messenger believes the message to be true just as followers of a mythology believe their myths to be true. In the WMM the truth is disguised within a myth.

   Regarding the name James:
This is more etymology than semiotics though the dividing lines do not really exist between these fields. James relates to St. James, Jamie, Jacob, Jacques, Jack, Jake, Jim, Jimmy, Jamisson, Giacomo, Iacopo, Jacopo, Giacobbe, Kubo, even Seamus, Diego and Santiago. One could talk on forever about these and their possible significances. Actually none of the significances really stand out to me as having any strong mythological relevance to the creator of the WMM. The ego might love to climb onto one or more of these and lay claim to having found something significant. The first school I ever went to for example was St. James School in Reading. But it doesn't mean anything accept that James is a very common name that you will encounter all over the western world in some format or derivative.

You will note that Sarah was the one to call the creator of the WMM James. "James" since has gone along with this. I have wondered if perhaps Sarah chose James because Jamisson Neruda's position in the AAB is somewhat allegorical to his own as creator of the WMM. You will notice that that is what confused me about these letters when they first came out. I would actually have been better off not making such a connection as it led to the first published paper being somewhat compromised in content there. I initially thought the two were the same person, and not even allegorical.

Sarah, as you can see from her letter, is not so interested in mythology. I cannot imagine her thinking, "How can I make a cool mythological name that would apply to the creator of the WMM?" The creator of the WMM is the "mythologist" not Sarah. IMO Sarah chose "James" merely because it is such a ubiquitous name in the USA ? by some accounts the most common name of all in 1990. This diffuses the personality issue to the creator being just another very common person in the crowd out there.

And actually, this does echo Joseph Campbell's saying that the new mythology and mythological heroes out there are the common folks standing on the corner waiting to cross the road, or words to that effect. I don't think Sarah consciously thought of that, but you might find it interesting that that is what we are witnessing: the new mythology for our time is not created by some hero or cult figure but by just an ordinary person (a James) like you and me living in one of the big busy cities going quietly about his work. Every man and woman is the hero. Every person is their own master and teacher.

Remember too, we are continually crossing rolls from master to student, because no one will ever know everything and we are approaching the synthesis model where these two models of existence: the mastership and saviorship (the one dependant in some form on another) are synthesizing and coming together. Even after transformation you don't suddenly know everything there is to know, with all knowledge in the universe available on tap just for the asking. Progress is eternal. If you can notice in your day to day interactions which model you are in and which is the most appropriate for any given time, event, or situation your days will be far more productive as well as more comfortable in the living. Know yourself; know which role you are playing at any particular time.

shima: Please, give any final comment you may have for the readers.

Dr: I would encourage you with the good news that the artwork is much more directly factual than the AAB, at least as I see it, but perhaps that is just because I see the artwork so directly expressing the WingMakers spiritual philosophy.

I believe one big trigger for my transformation was the amount of hard research I did over the paintings. They communicate on a level of worldwide mythology, after all, they relate to the inner reality as it is for the entire planetary populace and to a large degree the universe; so I would encourage you to study world mythology as it relates to the paintings and the images in them.

Another important trigger was that I was not performing this research for myself, but for everyone, so that everyone, including Mark could come to understand the paintings in some kind of comprehensive manner. What you do, do for the world. You have the power, ability, love, and understanding within to enlighten the world. Why settle for just yourself when by your example and the goodness of your being you can be instrumental in bringing enlightenment to the world. It is coming, and nothing, not even horrendous wars, or human or natural calamities will stop the eventual enlightenment of this planet. Be a part of it and live that part.

shima: Thank you.

Dr: The pleasure is mine.
